Best Food on Missouri's I-44

"SYBILL'S" in St. James is the best restaurant I've found on the entire stretch of Interstate 44 in Missouri. From Joplin to St. Louis, no other eating establishment provides a phenomenal dining experience like Sybill's.

The restaurant is actually located about 0.4 of a mile off I-44. Take Exit 195 and turn to the north on Highway 68 - also known as North Jefferson Street. Be ready to turn-in toward the parking lot when you arrive at number 1100. A sign is clearly visible on the right side of the road.

Dining space at Sybill's is in a large and beautiful house with a wraparound porch. Upon entry, diners are greeted by friendly staff members. It only gets better on the way to be seated at a table. The ambiance is immediately striking. The menu presents appetizers, breads, burgers, croissants, fruits, drinks, and a variety of lunch and dinner choices. Speciality entrees include chicken, seafood, and steaks.

At first glance, prices on the menu might appear to be somewhat expensive. However, after only a few bites, it is easy to conclude that the wonderful food is well worth the price. The excellent service, and the outstanding wait staff, are added pluses at Sybill's.

Family-friendly, great atmosphere, romantic, and fine dining are all good descriptors of Sybill's. It's a place where people who love great food and impressive surroundings will want to enjoy again and again. For I-44 travelers, it's a relaxing and refreshing break from Interstate traffic. For residents of St. James, and folks who live nearby or within easy driving distance, it's simply a delightful experience and a very special treat. A gift shop, with a large variety of items for sale, is adjacent to the restaurant for anyone looking for a bargain.

Reservations are accepted - but not necessarily needed - at Sybill's. The number to call to make reservations is 573-265-4224. Cash, personal checks, or credit cards may be used in payment for meals or items in the gift shop. The restaurant is closed on Mondays, but open for lunch Tuesdays through Sundays, and open for dinner Tuesdays through Saturdays.

Expect nothing but the best when eating at Sybill's. To recommend it is a genuine pleasure. It is truly "a WOW dining experience!"

I think this places sounds like a good destination for Jeanne and I. We are always looking for a good place to ride to eat.

    Thanks for sharing.
