The National Churchill Museum

STANDING AS A TRIBUTE to the life and legacy of the honorable Sir Winston Churchill, the National Churchill Museum is located on the campus of Westminster College in the central Missouri city of Fulton. It's the place where Churchill delivered his famous "Iron Curtain" speech in the College gymnasium on March 5, 1946.  The Museum has been declared a National Historical Site.

The Museum is a part of the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury. It was designed by Sir Christopher Wren in 1667. The Church was carefully moved from London, England to Fulton and reconstructed stone-by-stone. The rebuilding of the structure on the Westminster campus was to commemorate Sir Winston Churchill.

On the grounds nearby is eight sections of the Berlin Wall. A sculpture, "Breakthrough," created by Edwina Sandys, granddaughter of Winston Churchill, is a part of the exhibit which was dedicated in 1990 by former President Ronald Reagan.

The Museum has many permanent collections and several temporary displays. It is open from 10:00 to 4:30 daily - except for Mondays from November to February, and for major holidays.
