Experience Live Stage Extravaganzas

SIGHT and SOUND THEATRES are the largest venues for Christian professional theatrical productions in the United States. The company's newest theatre was built in Branson, Missouri.; their original theatre opened in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Today, both venues attract audiences in the thousands, and they are among the highest attended live theatres on the East Coast and in the Midwest.

Facilities for Sight and Sound performances include 2,000-seat theatres, 300-foot stages that wrap around three sides of the audience, sets that reach up to 40 feet high, and a large variety of live animals. All productions feature the talents of a professional cast. The greatest stories and characters of the Bible come to life and are portrayed in magnificent settings.

The featured production scheduled in Branson for 2012 is "Joseph." This original Sight and Sound show has already been seen by over 600,000 people. It's a story about a boy sold into slavery, but also a story of dreams and the power of forgiveness. It has been offered since April 14 and continues from now through December 29. Generally speaking, the live performances are at 3:30 pm or 7:30 pm Tuesdays through Saturdays.

In Lancaster County, Sight and Sound's production of the Biblical epic of "Jonah" is being featured during 2012. This is the story of a man on the run, who gets swallowed by an enormous whale, and in the process learns life-changing lessons. It has been offered since March 10 and continues from now through December 29. Usually the live performances are at 1:00 pm, 4:15 pm, or 7:30 pm Tuesdays through Saturdays.

On scheduled dates, a few hours prior to the beginning of the first performance, a Behind the Scenes Tour is available at Sight and Sound theatres in both Missouri and Pennsylvania. Opportunities are provided for visitors to see the technology that powers the dramatic complexity of each production, to observe the operational control center, and to step onto the 20,000 square-foot stage for an actor's view!

It has been my privilege to be in the audience for three Sight and Sound performances. All were outstanding. In my opinion, these live stage extravaganzas are not only inspiring, but they also qualify as top-notch leisure experiences.

I have seen the In the Beginning and The Miracle of Christmas in Lancaster, PA. The shows were awesome and plan to go see Noah when it returns in 2013. A real treat for all who go.
